Mr Oswald BURASANZWE assumes office as the NFPO Executive Secretary

The NFPO Executive Secretary Mr Oswald BURASANZWE assumed office after a handover ceremony that took place in Kacyiru this 18th March 2015.

Taking Handover

"I would like to thank the General Assembly of the National Consultative Forum of Political Organizations for entrusting me with this important position. It’s an opportunity for me to serve all political parties with commitment and diligence," Burasanzwe said.

He also thanked Mr. Anicet KAYIGEMA, the outgoing Executive Secretary for the good job he did during his office term.
On his side, Mr. Kayigema thanked all political parties for giving him the opportunity to serve as the Forum’s Executive Secretary saying that he learnt a lot during his tenure of 12 years.

He congratulated his successor reminding him that the NFPO has already registered so many achievements related to its mission and responsibilities. He also commended the staff at Executive Secretariat for their dedication and support during his tenure and asked them to show the same spirit to his successor.

Spokesperson’s handover

The handover also done between the upcoming Spokesperson Mr. MUKAMA KAYIRANGA Alphonse from PSR and deputy Madam UWIMANA Thacienne from PSP and the outgoing Hon. BYABARUMWANZI Francois and Madam MUKOBWAJANA Florence.
This was coming from the General Assembly resolution held on march 12, 2015, and which has elected the NFPO Executive Secretary and members of Bureau.
The NFPO is a constitutional institutional recognized by the Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda of June 4th, 2003 (art.56) as amended to date and it hereby established for purposes of national political dialogue, consensus building and nation cohesion” Article 56 of the Constitution.

The Organic Law no 10/2013 of 11/7/2013 governing political organizations and politicians, clarfies its responsibilities including facilitating exchange of ideas by Political Organizations on major issues facing the country; reinforcing the party members capacity through trainings and any other technical support and Acting as mediators in conflicts arising between political organization.
